Upgrade Microsoft Visual Studio to the SP1 before installing SQL Server 2008" by totally removing Visual Studio from the PC. Then the load succeeded. When trying to install SQL Server I get an error stating: Previous releases of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Upgrade Microsoft Visual Studio to the SP1 before installing SQL Server 2008. When I attempt to upgrade, the error is "This upgrade is designed for only the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (ENU) product family and is not compatible with any Express editions."
